Jobcentre Plus The agency supports people of working age, paying state benefits where appropriate, and helping people to get back into work. It also helps employers to fill their job vacancies. If you become unemployed, you should contact Jobcentre Plus by phone (0800 055 6688 between 8am and 6pm) and they will arrange for you to claim appropriate benefits, eg Jobseeker's allowance.

It may be several weeks or even months before you find a new job, and in the meantime you might get into debt, or even be unable to pay your bills.
