2. DTI - Department for Trade and Industry.

3. DWP - Department for Work and Pensions.

4. HMRC - (HM Revenue & Customs) responsible for collecting (for example) income tax and National Insurance Contributions (NICs). You can also find at the site about Child and Working Tax Credits.

5. Jobcentre Plus - new kind of Jobcentres which have replaced older offices, and bring together claims for state benefits and job-hunting help under one roof.

6. Jobseeker Direct - A telephone service run by the DWP to help you save time in checking for job vacancies. Call on 0845 606 0234.
