Redundancy

If you've been made redundant, you should make an appointment at Jobcentre Plus as soon as possible after you've left your job. This is important even if your employer will be giving you redundancy pay. If you don't apply for benefits immediately, you can lose your entitlement.

If you are also making a claim for Job Seeker's Allowance (JSA) you'll be given a form for housing benefit with your application pack. Otherwise, contact your council to make a claim.
